# Before you start

*When downloading the mod pack there will be a pop-up asking if you want to load it as a mod or as a replacer, select replacer. Unless you upgrade to premium, you will need to click through all the mods and select "download". I'm sorry for this. but its NexusMods way of getting you to upgrade :-(*

**Requirements**

- Baldur's Gate 3 Script Extender needs to be manually downloaded from [here](https://github.com/Norbyte/bg3se)
- Extract the DWrite.dll file and place it here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin

**Best practices**

- *After downloading mods and before entering game. Restart Vortex, Check for updates and then Deploy all mods to ensure all the files have been added to game files correctly and with no errors. Ensure all errors (if any) are fully resolved before starting the game. Ensure you're always using the most recent version of each mod, removing all unused versions and clearing all errors before starting the game. Failing to do so can cause errors*.
