# ⚠️ How to install

<details><summary>Regarding Vortex</summary>
1. Make sure your staging folder is on the same drive as where your game is located. I use the symlink deployment method and it works fine.
2. It is advised to create a new profile when installing a collection. If you have already started modding your game, then yes create a clean profile.

Dark Souls 3's modding needs a bit of manual installation. We'll use UXM:

1. Run UXM.exe
2. **Browse** your Dark Souls 3 executable path. Sekiro's one might be there by default. It will look like `WHEREisSTEAM\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DARK SOULS III\Game\DarkSoulsIII.exe`.
3. **Unpack**, wait a few minutes.
4. **Patch**. So the executable will look for the extracted files, the ones we are overriding.
5. In Vortex, **deploy** the collection.
