# Description

This collection offers QoL tweaks, including some Fallout 76 concepts, while trying to leave the meat of the game *mostly* untouched. This collection leans towards a playstyle that is focused on crafting, trading, and Settlements.

Some of these mods, if used with wild abandon, can let you cheese the game really hard. If you're a purist who wants to retain most of the vanilla experience, you do have to impose a few simple rules on yourself:

\- Don't use mods on Clothing in the early game
\- In Settlements, don't have your Food or Water production higher than about (settlers + 10)
\- Don't open the Global Stash if you're not in an owned Settlement

Or don't. I'm not your mom! But I did find that the game kind of lost its meaning when I allowed myself to make unlimited water and just have an infinite stash from anywhere, so these are the rules I use with this collection.

# Collection Features

## Unofficial FO4 Patch

Included for obvious reasons.

## Armorsmith Extended

Included primarily to allow the player to make armor pieces invisible, so you can emulate the Fallout 76 experience of being able to hide your armor under cosmetic outfits.

This mod also unlocks Weaves and some other powerful options for Clothing, but that's not why I included it. If you choose to use them, I recommend waiting until level 35 or so, as they're probably a bit too powerful for the early game.&#x20;

This mod depends on Armor and Weapon Keywords Community Resource (AWKCR), which is included in the Collection.

## Building Budget Extender

Included to give the player more flexibility in Settlement building. Don't go too far over the limits if your computer is a potato.

## Fallout 4 Script Extender

Required by LooksMenu, as well as a whole bunch of other mods that you might potentially install. If you're not already familiar with the Script Extender, you'll want to read about it here, as it affects how you boot the game: <https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/42147?tab=description>

## Full Dialog Interface

Included to remove ambiguity about what the player character is going to say. I can't be the only one who was heartbroken when I thought I was going to be 'playfully' Sarcastic but then my character verbally ripped Nick Valentine a new one.

## Global Stash

Probably the most controversial mod in this list, from a purist standpoint. It gives you the ability to have an unlimited stash box that you can open anywhere, anytime. I recommend that you *don't* use it this way. The tl;dr is that Global Stash makes it so that you don't have to spend so much time traveling around micromanaging your Settlement production. This one is a bit involved, so I gave it its own section after this list.

## LooksMenu

This makes it so that you can save and load Presets for faces. Great for those of us who spend 45 minutes in the Character Creator but then we start a new save three days later.

## QuickTrade

This adds a hotkey that lets you skip vendor dialog and get straight to the point. It includes a separate sub-mod that reduces the distance at which an NPC will force you into dialog.

## SKK Corpse Looting 76

In the style of Fallout 76, this one can highlight corpses and give you the option to 'area loot'. Note that this mod can sometimes cause you to loot things that are locked in display cases or behind doors, like the Cryolator and Reba II. There are settings that can curb this behavior if you really don't want that to happen.

In my experience, the option to area loot can occasionally break and just not show up, which can be frustrating. Usually, the next pack of mobs you killl after that will probably be area-lootable. If not, try quitting to desktop and then restarting.

# Global Stash - A Deeper Look

The simplest explanation of vanilla Settlement production is something like this:

Each workshop generates food, water and junk once a day. If the food and water exceeds the requirements of the people living in the Settlement, the excess will be put in the Workshop. All generated Junk is also put in the workshop.

The workshop has a maximum amount of stuff that it can hold, based on how many settlers live there. If the amount of stuff in the workshop exceeds this maximum, then the settlers simply won't produce any more of that stuff until that stuff is taken out of the workshop.

It is possible to use Supply Lines to remotely take Junk from workshops, by building in linked Settlements. However, Supply Lines don't allow the player to just take the stuff out of linked settlements for personal use. In order to fully clean out a Workshop and let settlers make more stuff, the player has to physically go empty the Workshop.

There are 37 Settlements in the game. If you have them all fully built up, it's probably not even possible for the player to actually keep up with their output without the Global Stash.

Unlike supply lines, the Global Stash does fully solve the problem. It can consolidate the contents of all Workshops, cleaning them all out so that the settlers can make more stuff. This consolidation appears to happen every time the Global Stash is opened, so you'll want to open it at least once per game day.

If you don't want to just cheese the game by carrying around a portable infinite stash, I recommend that you only allow yourself to access the Global Stash while you're in owned Settlements. This will give you the workshop consolidation benefits while retaining the vanilla experience in the open world.

Note that uncapping workshop production in this way *does* make it so that you can cheese quite a lot of stuff in a very short time. You could easily have hundreds, if not thousands of Purified Water swept into the Global Stash every day.

If you don't want this to happen, then simply don't build excessive water purifiers! If you build such that a Settlement is only producing about 10 excess food and water per day, then you're getting the amount intended in vanilla, but now you don't have to fast travel 37 times a day to get it all.

# Extra: Load Accelerator

I couldn't include the Load Accelerator in this collection because it's not a Vortex download, but if you play on a limited framerate (such as with vsync), I highly recommend downloading it and installing it:&#x20;

Quality of Life Essentials

A smallish collection of mods that help to remove some of the more annoying pain points of the vanilla experience. Also, looting and storage will feel more like Fallout 76.
