*- Galac Tac Retribution*
- Current versions of GTR, Mercs and Music, Tac Boy, Republic Commando HUD, and Galac Tac Helmet Overlay

# Before you start
*- Pre Install*
- Install a fresh copy of FO4 and all DLC (requires no Creation Club content). Best way is to uninstall Fallout 4 from steam, go to steamapps/common in your steam program files, delete the fallout4 folder, go back to steam and install Fallout 4.
- Install the HD texture pack from Steam. It is a free dlc in the steam store. 
- Launch Fallout 4 and verify that it boots to the main menu.

*- Install*
- Download collection.
- Don't skip the F4SE install. It will break everything. Just download it from the "silverlock" link that pops up.
- The PANPC mod will link you to Greslin Mods discord. The discord has a download link. 
- FOR NON-AMD VIDEO CARDS: you should disable the mods "COMBINED ARMS - AMD PATCH" and "COMBINED ARMS EXPANISON PACK- AMD PATCH".
- This collection does not include ENBseries or preset, but is ENB friendly, people seem to have mixed feelings, so I left it off. You can add it after install if you like.

*- On first boot*
- Boot game from Fallout 4 script extender only. It can be found on your vortex dashboard. Alternatively, you can launch from f4se_loader.exe located in Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4. You can use this .exe to make a desktop or start menu shortcut. Never boot from fallout4.exe or fallout4_launcher.exe.
- Start a new game. Not starting a new game will break several mods including Galac Tac. For best results play a male character.
- Once in game, go to the nearest chem bench. Craft the See Through Scopes holotape and the Get Out Of My Face holotape. Use the See Through Scopes holotape to install the patch for combined arms. Save the game and load that save. Use the Get Out Of My Face holotape to activate the mod.
- This Collection includes the mod Power Armor Voice for Player Character by Bunslinger. I used this to mimic the character voices used in GTR. It can be toggled via Vortex without any serious consequences.

*- Gameplay*
- You should have a "prepper stash" mission that will give you some gear and fast level your character as GTR takes place in mainly high level areas. You can also use the cheat menu holotape and chem table to further buff yourself if you want. 
- Using The combined arms "Free Weapons with Damage Modifiers" crafted at the chem bench is almost a must for the damage modifiers. You can fine tune your damage output, 40-70 percent seems to feel about right on Very hard difficulty. 
- If you are having issues with strange objects clipping in when you aim down sights, go to an armor bench and check your Galac Tac arm armor. Under "Bracers" there is a "first person compatibility" mod. Should fix the issue. 
- To activate Galac Tac HUD: Pause, select Mod Configuration, Select, Fall UI, Select DEF UI preset, hard save, load that save. 
- Tac boy works, use the armor table, save n' load after applying mod. 

**Requirements**
- *Fresh FO4 install with no mods*
-  *All DLC and First party HD texture pack from Steam (requires no Creation Club content)*

**Best practices**
- *Never launch your game with Fallout4.exe or Fallout4launcher.exe. You will not have a good time. Only use f4se_loader.exe.*
- *Save your game often with HARD SAVES, you are playing modded fallout 4 after all, I've had scenes from GTR kind of just error out and get stuck in a quest with now way to progress. Usually, you can reload a save before the particular trigger that is broken and fix it. The Companion Whistle mod can help with GTR troubleshooting as well.*
- *Install other mods at your own risk. Galac Tac Retribution is a very expansive mod that edits so many quests its unfathomable. It also sets up many new quests in unused vanilla areas. Installing other mods, especially those that alter vanilla quests or locations, can break this mod and you might not know till you've played for 6 hours.*
