# Before you start

Would rate going through each mods installation req as that what I did. I actually started from scratch, made a copy of the entire f4vr folder, then installed FSEVR made sure it worked, then went out the vault, saved. Then added the patches and improvements, ect, testing out the mods between additions before adding more. Havent had to use the backup copy luckily.\\

You do need the DLCs though, placed in the data folder of FO4vr games dir's Data folder. These DLC files are all the files that start with "DLCSomething" in the original Fallout 4 folder, which all are needed apparently.  &#x20;
Also need to ensure the rules are in the correct order, should be included in the mod rule section.

As well as the two INI changes, but that also should be included in the vortex collection once downloaded to vortex. \\

OR YOU CAN RISK IT FOR THE BISCUIT. As in fresh install then install this collection, i have not tested it like this. It got to the state by the above paragraph but i have added those mod rules and ini tweaks in vortex so that could work. This is where the copy of the original will come in, if this install fails, delete everything and copy back that original Fallout 4 VR copy to the original.&#x20;
You need to copy the DLC correctly manually. It is req for a few of the patches.&#x20;

You will need to run the&#x20;

Then start your VR headset, start SteamVR, then run the f4sevr\_loader.exe file in the games dir.&#x20;

**Updates:**

- Have fixed dimly lit pipboy, bright now.&#x20;
- have added in headbased movement, need to run the "Fallout 4 VR Configuration Tool" program locally, change bUseWandDirectionalMovement=0. UPDATE - This seems to cause some problems for some people, remove if youre getting crashes especially while opening pipboy

THE ONLY ISSUE IM AWARE OF IS AN ISSUE WITH THE WORKBENCH UI BEING CUT OFF. STILL USABLE BUT ANNOYING. LIKELY TO DO WITH ORDER OF FALLUI, FALLUI VR PATCH AND OTHER FALLUI MODS.&#x20;

Fallout 4 VR Enhanced Vanilla

These are the collection of mods which i like to say are pretty vanilla friendly but enhance the game to a more than playable state, as well as looking good. The collection install from scratch has not been tested. I have incrementally added and made work

Changed a rule that allowed the VR Patch to take preference which increase stability, for me it stopped occasional crashes while using terminals
