# Description

*I wanted to play New Vegas but without all the bugs, crashes and lags that it comes with out-of-the-box, so I installed a bunch of mods, and now I've decided to make a collection out of it for sharing and for future reference.*

**TL;DR**: fix bug, fix crash, make performance gooder, make menus not bad, make game look gooder, all mods available from nexus, manually install 4GB patch

Disclaimer: This is the collection that I personally play New Vegas with, so there is no real rhyme or reason for certain mods to be here, other than that I personally feel like they improve the game. I am not an expert in the New Vegas modding scene (I've done barely any research), so some other collection made by somebody more educated might work better for you. And also, this collection might shrink / grow as time goes on. Like I said, this is my modlist, simple as that.

# Main features

All of the bug fixes, crash fixes, optimizations and improvements that I've deemed necessary.&#x20;

Also includes *some* deviations from vanilla, mainly menus. See the screenshots for a few pics featuring the UI changes. '**JLM - Just Loot Menu**' adds Fallout 4 style looting so you don't have to go into a menu to loot, '**MTUI**' makes menus bearable when you *do* need to use them (dialogue, trade windows etc) and '**MAPMO - Main And Pause Menu Overhaul**' does what you'd expect, modernizes these menus. The pause menu now has some cool new features, and looks a lot nicer.

In addition to menus, this collection includes '**FNV - Realistic Wasteland Lighting**' for, well, improved lighting. Specifically, removes the stupid tint and post-processing normally present. **This is not a ReShade preset / ENB**, so no need to worry about all that jazz. In addition to this lighting overhaul, various other minor graphical things are also included, but they are so small I don't believe they are worth mentioning.

Lastly, a bunch of libraries / fixes that I have *no idea* what they do, but I've installed them because they were dependencies to other stuff.

# Before you start

**Requirements**

- [FNV 4GB Patch](https://https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/62552) - I don't know how to include this in the collection so just download it manually. I don't know if this is *technically *required but, just install it.
- All of the DLC - I see no reason for someone to not have all the DLC, they are dirt cheap. As such, this collection assumes all DLC, mileage may vary if you don't have them.

**Recommended / optional**

- [New Vegas Heap Replacer](https://https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/69779) - This is another one that you'll need to install manually. Additional performance and load time improvements.
- [lStewieAl's Tweaks and Engine Fixes](https://https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66347) - Not included in this collection because I personally don't care for some of the tweaks, but a lot of people like them so check it out.

# Recommended specs

- Can it run Doom? It can probably run this too. This should run better than vanilla New Vegas.
