NPCs... you interact with them all the time, yet they look so bad in this game. Over the years there have been attempts to make them look better, the results of which are quite good, but if you are a newcomer to FNV modding the convoluted install processes and options can quickly bury you in a morass of incompatibilities and broken installs.

This collection aims to provide you a one-step process that will help you navigate through the character overhaul minefield.

# Installation and Archive Invalidation

Archive Invalidation is the last step of every collection or mod installation. You will need to become accustomed to it or you will run into strange results. Here is the step-by-step process.

STEP1: Enable "BSA redirection" in "Settings --> Workarounds". You only need to do this once, right after you install Vortex.

STEP2: In your "Dashboard", make sure that you have "Archive Invalidation Yes".

STEP3: Install your collections and mods.

STEP4: After you've installed and deployed all your collections and mods, find a mod called "Vortex Archive Invalidation" in the "Mods" section. Change its state to "Disabled" and then back to "Enabled".

# Post Install

There are so many collections that try to install the kitchen sink, but mine takes a modular approach. It is designed so you can mix-and-match with other collections without much risk of conflicts, as long as they don't try to modify NPCs. My suggestion is to install collections that are modular such as this. I see many collections here that spam the same "essential" and "stability" mods so you shouldn't have any problems finding them.
