You can ignore this because it was caused by me accidentally generating LOD to the wrong folder which made Vortex recognise my NV install as a new game version. I haven't gotten around to fixing this yet since I'm still working on the guide and don't want to risk breaking my New Vegas install by wiping the LOD folder.**

New Vegas Rebuilt is a huge modding guide for Fallout New Vegas I've been writing since 2020. It's written from a complete beginner perspective as I wrote the guide whilst delving into New Vegas for the first time optimising the final selection after 200+ hours of playing. I referenced several other mod guides during the process.

Its designed to fix bugs, improve stability, restore as much cut content as possible, refine vanilla gameplay, further expand it with gameplay additions that tonally fit the original and finally remaster every conceivable graphical aspect. The final mod list totals around 400 mods.

These Collections are being released before the guide for testing. Each Collection represents a specific overhaul area category with 11 overall. You should be able to modularly mix-and-match the Collections to your own preferences if you wish to do so.

By trying out this Collection before the guide release, you're essentially testing the Collections for me. I'm all ears to feedback and encourage you to comment letting me know if the Collection worked as expected. I'm open to further suggestions that suit the category this particular Collection overhauls. Once the guide is released it should be fully read on release before installing any Collections as it explains what each mod does in detail.

**If you installed **[NV Rebuilt: Gameplay HD](https://next.nexusmods.com/newvegas/collections/bfkz29)**, reinstall Brave New World so it adds compatibility patches for Mojave Raiders and JSawyer Ultimate Edition.**

# First Time Players Suggestion

If you're looking for a purist vanilla experience on your first playthrough of Fallout New Vegas, I'd recommend installing this Collection combination:

This combination will optimize performance, restore cut content and refine vanilla gameplay without radically changing it's original feel. The remaining Collections overhaul gameplay systems further, add major visual overhauls and functional post-game ending content. You could skip Restored Content and Gameplay HD if you want to be a radically pure purist about your first vanilla playthrough.

# Collection Testing

I’ve grouped my mod recommendations into categorised sections. I’d highly recommend starting a new game with zero mods, saving in Doc Mitchell’s house immediately after using the Vigor Tester (stat creation) before you go outside and loading it up after each mod section to test if everything works as expected. Saving there lets you test interior loading, exterior loading when you exit the house, NPC interaction and combat quickly.

**Please be aware that due to the huge number of mods New Vegas may still crash unpredictably. Autosaving is also known to cause problems. Turn off autosaves in Settings and manually save regularly to avoid crashes causing any save corruption.**

# Collection Overview

This Collection extends several gameplay systems whilst maintaining a vanilla-like feel. You can download the optional mods as you wish to boost the overall difficulty significantly. I personally play with all the optional mods enabled.

**I would suggest disabling JSawyer Ultimate Edition and all it's related patches/mods if you're using this Collection during your first playthrough of New Vegas.** That way you can experience the original difficulty balance.

8 optional radio station mods are included. I’ve tried quite a few and found combining the below gives just the right amount of music variety to suit all moods without being overwhelming.

- Radio Indigo: 15 expertly curated, varied, emotive, beautiful songs that feel like they were in the original game. Highly recommended.
- Existence 2.0: Creepy, sinister music perfect for playing when the weather gets bad or you’re exploring caves.
- Platinum Radio: Bombastic, big band style tunes. An excellent Strip soundtrack.
- Conelrad Radio: Red Scare-themed songs with adverts. Suits the ironic humor of Fallout well.
- Cowboy Radio: Cowboy-themed country tunes ideal for varmint hunting on the planes when it’s hot, sandy and sweaty. Complete with a radio presenter in between too.
- Radio Sinatra: 24/7 Frank. Really makes you appreciate what a stunning musician he was and fits the world of New Vegas perfectly once again.
- Mysterious Radio Extended: Adds more jazzy, blue-sy numbers to Mysterious Radio.
- More Where That Came From x Mojave Radio Extended: Lore-friendly Mojave Radio extension.

# Misc. Gameplay Tweaks - My Settings

You can set these up however you like, but this is what I recommend:

- **Twice The Rads (highly recommended to enhance the RAD mod BUT YOU SHOULD DISABLE THIS IF YOU CHOOSE TO INSTALL WATER OVERHAUL SINCE IT ALREADY INCREASES RAD VALUES FOR ALL CONSUMABLES)**
- Bullet Impact Increased LOD
- Deadlier Fall Damage
- Faster Dialogue Zoom
- Faster Holster Speed
- Faster Pip-Boy Light
- Increased Sitting FOV
- No Auto-Aim
- Repair Rebalance
- Shorter Death Cam Duration
- Weapons Follow Crosshair In First Person
