# BEFORE YOU START

Please go and read through the [Viva New Vegas](https://https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/intro.html) guide as it has some helpful tips and a detail walk through for mods that require extra steps for installation.\
\
Also make sure to enable archive invalidation in dashboard on Vortex before installing.\
\
**IMPORTANT**

The installation of the [Ultimate Edition ESM Fixes](https://https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/77170) is different than outlined in the guide please read the instructions below or read the collection instructions on Vortex.

Ultimate Edition ESM Fixes Installation Instructions:
1. Extract the archive into your Downloads folder.
2. Inside of your mods folder create an empty folder called "Fixed ESMs".
3. From the extracted archive, run Installer.exe.
4. The Fallout New Vegas path should be filled by default (Root folder). If it isn't, close the program and re-run your game launcher to generate the required registry key.
5. Click Browse next to the ESM Fixes path field, then choose the Fixed ESMs folder you just created.
6. Click Install, wait for the process the finish, then exit the program once finished.
7. In Vortex, go to the "Mods" section click on "Drop Files" and then select your Fixed ESMs folder and install it and enable all plugins.

Epic Games version does not create any keys! You need to select the game folder manually!

# ADDITIONAL MOD INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION

The following are instructions for mods that are manually installed.

FNV BSA Decompressor Installation Instructions:

1. Extract the archive into the Downloads folder.
2. From the extracted archive, run FNV BSA Decompressor.exe.
3. The Fallout: New Vegas and Decompressed Archives paths should be filled by default (Root folder and Data folder respectively). If they aren't, close the program and re-run your game launcher to generate the required registry key.
4. Click Decompress, wait for the process the finish, then exit the program once finished.

Epic Games version does not create any keys! You need to select the game folder manually!

FNV 4GB Patcher Installation Instructions:

1. From the downloaded archive, extract the .exe file to the game's Root folder.
Double-click on FNVpatch.exe to run it.
2. A command prompt window will open and should say FalloutNV.exe patched!
Close the command prompt and a file named FalloutNV_backup.exe should appear in the game's Root folder.

New Vegas Heap Replacer Installation Instructions:
1. From the downloaded archive, extract everything to the game's Root folder.

Custom INI:
JIP LN NVSE provides the user with a FalloutCustom.ini feature which can be used to improve performance and stability below are instructions on how to take advantage of that.

1. Go to the drive you have Fallout New Vegas installed on.
2. In the top right search for "falloutcustom"
3. Click on the ini file that should pop up.
4. Paste the following in:
