# What you'll need

Download FNVpatch (https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/62552) or by searching the nexus if link is broken

Download xNVSE 6.3.5b or later (https://github.com/xNVSE/NVSE/releases/tag/6.3.5)

# How to Install

Here's what you need to do:

1\. If you're starting fresh with Fallout New Vegas, just open the game via Steam until you reach the main menu, then close it.

2\. Download FNVpatch.

3\. Extract the contents of the zip file into your Fallout New Vegas folder ("\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas").

4\. Find "FNVpatch.exe" in your Fallout New Vegas folder and run it to install.

5\. Download xNVSE 6.3.5b or later from its GitHub page.

6\. Extract the contents of the zip file into your Fallout New Vegas folder.

7\. If Vortex hasn't recognized xNVSE in the tools menu on the dashboard, you'll need to manually add it by selecting the plus icon, then "new," and selecting the "nvse\_loader" as the target.

8\. Finally, launch the game through the New Vegas Script Extender (nvse\_loader) and cross your fingers that everything works smoothly! 😄

To streamline things, set Fallout New Vegas Script Extender as your primary option. Click on the three dotted lines next to its entry, then select "set as primary." This will allow you to launch the game directly by clicking the play button at the top left corner, without the need to navigate to the tools section every time.
