# WARNING: This collection will be merged into IMNotACollection 2024, to avoid to maintain to many collections, and so will be soon deleted.

**This collection is dedicated to people who want to play Skyrim again after a long time, without downloading gigabytes of mods, but still want some essential mods to improve the game a bit.**

This is a lightweight collection designed for fast download and installation, focusing on a small size to stay close to Skyrim vanilla and run on low-end PCs. There are no parallax, no seasons, no HD mods (almost), no weather mods, no flora mods (except some grass and shrubs, and simply bigger trees), no perks or combat mods, no architecture mods, so almost everything is vanilla. However, there is still Community Shader (and Reshade) and DynDOLOD for minimal graphic improvements.

**However, some parts need to be installed manually:**

- Part 2 of the required SSE Engine Fixes (skse64 plugin) must be installed manually into your Skyrim directory: [SSE Engine Fixes](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230?tab=files)
- The Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) is required and must be installed: [Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170)
- Reshade is required for Community Shader. Download the full add-on support version, during installation select your SkyrimSE.exe from the list, DirectX 10, and if you want to use some shaders or presets like my Reshade True Light preset, select some shaders too: [Reshade](https://reshade.me)
- DynDOLOD 3 is required to get some dynamic distant objects (LODS), to see more distant trees and since we change some architectures to render them at a long distance.

**About DynDOLOD 3:**

- You must first download the DynDOLOD 3 alpha application and unzip it in a directory like C:\Modding\DynDOLOD (use a fast hard drive because there will be a lot of files to write during the LODs generation): [DynDOLOD 3](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/DynDOLOD-3/68518?tab=files)
- Then in Vortex, add two tool buttons under the Dashboard panel: a first button for Texgen3, that targets your DynDOLOD TexGenx64.exe: C:\Modding\DynDOLOD\TexGenx64.exe, add `-sse` at the command line option as well. Then a second button that targets your DynDOLODx64.exe: C:\Modding\DynDOLOD\DynDOLODx64.exe, with `-sse` at the command line option too.
- Edit your DynDOLOD\Edit Scripts\DynDOLOD\DynDOLOD\_SSE.ini file to add these lines, under the \[DynDOLOD] section, that will remove some DynDOLOD strange load screens:

- Still in the DynDOLOD\_SSE.ini, edit this line for the Community Shaders Trees lighting:

- Edit another file, the DynDOLOD\Edit Scripts\DynDOLOD\TeXGEN\_SSE.INI, to edit this line for Tree lighting too:

- Now run Texgen3 from your Dashboard, use default options and run. At the end, select “zip and exit”. Move the TexGen\Output\TexGen\_Output.zip file into the Vortex mods drop zone (in the Mods panel). On conflicts, let TexGen\_Output.zip win.
- Now run DynDOLOD3 from your Dashboard. If it asks you to clean the Update.esm, Dawnguard.esm, and some other plugins, you can do it with the tool SSEEditQuickAutoClean.exe from SSEEdit (must do it on each plugin to clean one by one, with write access): SSEEdit. Then in DynDOLOD, select all the worldspaces and run. At exit, zip the output and move the zip to the Mods drop zone like for TexGen. Be sure to enable the DynDOLOD.esm, DynDOLOD.esp, and Occlusion.esp plugins. That’s all. Be warned that if you want to recreate new LODs, you will have to uninstall DynDOLOD safely first, in a small interior place, and with a clean save to install a new one to avoid any old records in the save file.

You can enable/disable some visual effects of Community Shaders under the Reshade menu (Home Key) in the Add-ons panel, and in the Community Shaders menu itself (End Key).
Run skse64\_loader.exe instead of skyrimSE.exe then, to use SKSE.
At the first run, there will be a black screen for 20 seconds then a loading screen for 2 minutes, the time to compile all the shaders (Reshade and Community Shaders). This is only a one-time pass. After that, any restart will go faster.

Also, I recommend reducing the gamma brightness and the footstep volume in the game settings.
