# README \_\_ INSTALL DIRECTIONS BELOW

!!!!!! START NEW GAME AFTER INSTALLING COLLECTION. ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED AS OF REVISION 10 !!!!!!!!!
!!!!!! ALWAYS REMEMBER TO RUN SKYRIM POST DEPLOY FROM DESKTOP AFTER MAKING ANY CHANGES IN VORTEX !!!!!

BUG Maybe: If you are playing and the world gets blurry it is because you are tired. If you have a red tint its because you are hungry.
Sleeping/eating should resolve both issues. If not there is a command line fix (I'm not 100% that there isn't a bug so providing just in case.)
Hit ~ to bring up console (SteamDeck hit STEAM+X for keyboard), type "sisme 0", enter.&#x20;
FYI Disable survival IMODS (Should fix potetional issue of bug mentioned above) in Connor Survival will prevent these effects from happening at all if you prefer.

NEED TO KNOW INFORMATION ABOUT CERTAIN MODS BEFORE PLAYING GAME

1\. Safes/Treasure chests in inn rooms are safe storage for your goods. It say requires key but no key needed, just rent the room. If your rental lapses your goods will be locked in safe. Just rent again to unlock storage to get your items back.

2\. Mainly besides some additional enhancements the compass will no longer show undiscovered locations. To change you can update the ini file (see below) or just disable mod Compass Navigation Overhaul.

3\. ENB/FPS Settings hit SHIFT+ENTER to bring up overlay. Can set frame limit there. I haven't messed with any of the other settings. Play with them at your own risk.

4\. When triggering bed you will climb in. Then you need to hit the wait button (default T) to set your sleep time

5\. To bring up Character Sheet hit U or 0(when in inventory). Suggest binding that to a back button via Steam Controller profile.

6\. True Direction Movement: Hold down Right Joystick to enter third person. Click Right Joystick to lock on to target. Move Right Joystick to switch targets.

7\. Nvidia Reflex can be configured in the ENB menu.

**Race Passives:**

Argonian: Your Poison Resistance and Disease Resistance are increased by 50%, and your potions last 50% longer. You can also breathe underwater.

Breton: Your Magic Resistance is increased by 25%, and you have a 15% chance to absorb the Magicka from incoming spells.

Dark Elf: Your Fire Resistance is increased by 50%, and your spells and enchantments cost 10% less.

Dark Elf: Your Magicka is increased by 50, and your Magicka Regeneration is increased by 50%.

Imperial: Your Health, Magicka, and Stamina are increased by 25. You receive 10% better prices, and you find extra gold in your travels.&#x20;

Khajiit: You spend 25% less Stamina while power attacking or drawing a bow, and 50% less Stamina while sprinting.

Night Eye: Improves the caster’s night vision for 60 seconds.

Nord: Your Frost Resistance is increased by 50%, and you take 25% less damage while power attacking, drawing a bow, or casting a spell.

Orc: Your Health is increased by 50, and your Health Regeneration is increased by 50%.&#x20;

Redguard: Your Stamina is increased by 50, and your Stamina Regeneration is increased by 50%.&#x20;

Wood Elf: Your Movement Speed is increased by 10%, and you take 50% less damage from falling. You deal 25% extra damage with sneak attacks and spells.

# Important

**1.** Compass Mod: Default hides all undiscovered locations. This and other settings can be altered in the ini file located Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SKSE\Plugins\CompassNavigationOverhaul.
File is pretty self explanatory.

\*\*2. \*\*Run kryptopyr's Patch Hub Installer last. (Collection should auto install it in right order but just in case you end up having things get out of line)

# INSTALLATION

*If starting from scratch just contact me, I'll walk you through. Can try following instructions below and then install this collection. Hopefully will work without issue, did for me.*\
\
**STEP 1:** Run Skyrim normally. Install all Creation Club Content. Start New Game until "Hey You're Awake" is said on carriage ride. Exit Skyrim, boot to SteamDeck Desktop.

**STEP 2: **FOLLOW INSTRUCTION ON VORTEX INSTALLATION\
**Vortex on SteamDeck:**\
You \*\***MUST**\*\* run Skyrim normally on your Steam Deck without mods first for game to create all folders needed. Just start a new game and quit. (Do "**The Magic Trick**" here in the section above!! Click \*Options\* on the popup launcher). If you have issues, start the game in Game mode, not Desktop.

- Switch the Steam Deck into Desktop Mode
- Vortex and Skyrim should be on the same drive (both on SD card or internal.
- [Download SKSE](https://skse.silverlock.org/) in a browser on the Steam Deck, unzip and paste all files and folders into same folder as the Skyrim.exe. Normally somewhere like  ./home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim Special Edition/
- Go to this [website](https://github.com/pikdum/steam-deck/) (<https://github.com/pikdum/steam-deck/>) and under the **Install** section, right click (LB or left trackpad click) on his link and "save as", name it **install.desktop** and save it (Download folder is fine).
- Open the new file and execute it. This is going to do a lot of things. Just let it run. It may take a while, maybe 3-5 minutes but less than 10.
- It adds a **Skyrim Post-Deploy** shortcut to desktop which **needs to be run every time after** you change/install mods in Vortex. It is also installing FNIS and BodySlide as tools!
- After everything is done, open Vortex from the icon on the Desktop.
- You will need to **manually set the location** of where Skyrim game is. Use either the J: or K: drives > Skyrim Special Edition     (J: is internal storage games, K: is sd card games)
- Vortex will pop up some warnings about staging location and deployment method. Just walk through their fixes.        (Staging folder needs to be on the **same drive as the game.)**
- The suggested path works here.
- Deployment method should be **hardlinks**.
- You can go to [Nexus Mods](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition) and download a mod or my collection here and then it'll ask if you want to associate Vortex with this type of file, say yes, every time.
- You'll need to associate mods to open with Vortex in an additional pop-up (it may be behind the browser window) scroll to the bottom and select Vortex.
- In Vortex, tap Dashboard, find and tick **Enable Toolbar** to add tools to the top of Vortex. Don't forget to run FNIS in Vortex after every actor/character change.![Toobar](https://i.imgur.com/8iwsmyz.jpg)
- Once your mods are downloaded and done, on the desktop run the shortcut Skyrim Post-Deploy which again\*\* needs to be run every time\*\* after you change/install mods in Vortex before playing Skyrim.
- Switch back to Gaming Mode and enjoy!

NOTE: On first run may need to let game sit for a minute once loaded in for menu/mods to load in. If any issues just save and exit game and load back in.
