# Updates

I made this collection to play with some friends on version 0.218.16, and with the game's tendency to break mods on every update i probably wont update the collection very often. I'll try to match the revisions with big updates, and changes to the collection.

# Description

This collection adds more content to Valheim: enemies, locations, animals, geological formations, equipment and improves on other aspects: navigation, seasons, bosses, mounts. As well as streamlining the in-game logistics.

As a co-op oriented collection it adds more challenge to multiplayer exploration and combat while simplifying the rest of the game.
Overall it maintains the game's low poly survival feel, but adds systems that were missing in base.

# Before you start

‼**UPDATE VORTEX**‼
Please make sure your vortex is up to date. This actually affects the installation process.

Your Vortex should download [denikson's BepInX ](https://thunderstore.io/c/valheim/p/denikson/BepInExPack_Valheim/)automatically. For the sake of being thorough the mod is part of the collection, but to avoid having to download/install it again it's marked as optional.

# Troubleshooting

We have tested this collection on multiple computers, it works fine. There are some minor issues but they are all covered here:

- ‼**UPDATE VORTEX**‼(again):\
  Please make sure your vortex program is up to date before trying to resolve any other issue. thx
- **Creating a new world takes forever**:\
  Because of "Better Continents" creating a new world with any preset takes a long time. Ask the host to create one before you start playing with your friends.
- **A mod is marked as installed but is missing in-game**:\
  To make sure a mod is installed in-game open the F1 Bepinx Configuration and try to find the mod.\
  When installed with vortex the .dll files sometimes do not install correctly.\
  In this case you can install the mods manually. In most cases you can follow these instructions:\
  « *Find "{ModName}.dll" either in the vortex staging folder or by manually downloading the "{ModeNameAndVersion}.zip", and move that file into "...\Valheim\BepInEx\plugins\\".* »\
  In any case check the installation instructions in the specific mod's page for the correct way to install the mods.
- **The game crashes on launch**, this usually happens because:\
  \- BepInExPack is not up to date: let vortex update BepInExPack.\
  \- A mod is missing: check that all the mods from the collection have been correctly downloaded and not ignored.\
  \- Erroneous file conflict resolution: this is a bit more tricky, the rest of the troubleshooting section is about this.\
  \- Something else: try to find out what it could be with the big ass red messages the BepInExPack window shows.
- **Semi-Fresh reinstall:**\
  A quick way to make sure the collection is installed correctly, to solve some conflict with existing dependencies. Purge the mods (right of the deploy button). Remove the collection in the collections tab. Delete the profile where the collection was installed. Remove all the mods: crtl+A into remove mods (do not delete the archives). Add the collection to vortex again into a new profile. The collection will install again (hopefully correctly this time). [\

- **File Conflicts are not defined or are different:**\
  Sometimes the collection's rules on file conflicts are missing or straight up not the same as the one i have defined for the collection. If they are in fact not the same (as the ones in the following picture), there is not much i can do on this one, I guess just use vortex's "suggestions" and try to make it work. *(However, are you sure Vortex up to date? 🤔)*\
