2. Open Vortex.

4. Drag and drop the zip file into the "Drop file(s)" box at the bottom right.
5. Go to the Games tab and search for Darktide.
6. Hover over it and click Manage.

# Darktide Mod Framework

Darktide Mod Framework is included in the mod list and should automatically work after being installed and enabled.

It won't and shouldn't appear in the mod load order.

# Mod Collection Installation

Installing and enabling the mods:

1. At the Mods tab, make sure all mods are installed and enabled.
2. Go to the Load Order tab and move settings\_extension, ui\_extension, and animation\_events to the bottom (Order #71-73).
3. Move Scoreboard to be above the Scoreboard Plugins.
4. Move LogMeIn to the top (Order #1).
5. Check all the mods on the list and press the Deploy Mods button.

# Adding and Downloading Additional Mods Not in the Collection Directly to Vortex

Adding and downloading mods directly to Vortex:

1. Browse Darktide mods in Nexusmods:<https://www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40kdarktide>
2. Go to Files and click Manual Download.
3. On the page with the Slow Download/ Fast Download options, add '\&nmm=1' to the end of the URL.
4. And continue with the download process, a popup notification should appear asking to open with Vortex.
5. Install and enable the added mod.
6. Go to the Load Order tab and move settings\_extension, ui\_extension, and animation\_events to the bottom (The last 3 mods of the list).
7. Move LogMeIn to the top (Order #1).
8. and press the Deploy Mods button

# Post Installation & Mod Options to Check Out

## Important ones

1. !! Every time Darktide is updated or patched, you need to run *toggle\_darktide\_mods.bat* again !!
2. !! After loading into the Mourningstar, press Esc/ open the Menu. Look at the **4th button from the bottom called Mod Options** to start tweaking Mod Options and Settings !!
3. If you want specific mods disabled you should be able to do so from the *Toggle Mods* menu and switching it *Off*.
4. Modular Menu Buttons mod - Switch buttons you don't want to be on the Esc Menu to **Off**.
5. !! Loadout Monitor mod - scroll down, and set the **Other: Lift Tactical Overlay** slider to **240** so it doesn't conflict with the display of Contract Overlay !!
6. Custom HUD mod - The default Hotkey to toggle HUD customization is F3.
7. hub\_hotkey\_menus mod - Set the hotkeys. I personally set the **Contracts, Crafting, and Credits vendors** to **J, K, L**, **Psykhanium** to **N**, and the **Mission Board** to **M**.
8. Buy Until Rating - **Set Desired rating**, **Quantity Limitation**, **Auto Discard settings**, and the **Keybind to stop** (I bind it to **B**).

## Preferences related

1. Dark Cache mod - I have **Mission Board caching** on **Off** so active tracking with Contracts Overlay works (Not sure if they have fixed this issue). Additionally, if you could afford the increased Memory Usage, set the **Mourningstar** caching and preloading options to **On**. **Switch it off if you experience an increased amount of crashes/ stutters/ etc**.
2. Toggle Interacts mod - Added to the collection for accessibility options; I personally disable this mod and you can too in the 'Toggle Mods' tab.
3. Full Auto mod - Added to the collection for accessibility options; Set an Activation Toggle key bind if you want or switch it Off if you want. In my experience, it could mess up minigame input in an older version (double input), so I bind the toggle to **T**.
4. Numeric UI mod - I personally enabled **Show Dodge Count**, **number of efficient dodges** , and dodge count for infinite dodge weapons (i.e. Force Sword)
5. Who Are You mod - I personally put **Display Style** to **Character Name (Account Name)** and **Applied To: Nameplate** to **Off**.
6. DisabledScreenEffects mod - I personally enable **Damage Taken** and the **Toughness Absorbed options** for feedback on getting damaged - as well as **Chaos Beast of Nurgle Hit by Vomit**; Though the debuff indicator should be a sufficient indicator if you don't want the vomit debuff effects.
7. Crosshair mods (crosshair\_remap, Crosshairs fix, Dynamic Crosshair) - customize them with how you like them to be. For Dynamic Crosshair, in particular, I personally **turn enemy colors to white (Max RGB values)** and **Barrel colors to Red** as *Explosive Barrels are the true enemy*.
8. Clean Force Blocking mod - I personally switched **remove push attack visual effect** and **remove blocking sound effect** to **Off** for visual and audio feedback.
9. Healthbars mod - You can enable/ disable it for each enemy type. IIRC, I use the default.
10. Custom Flames mod - test each option in the Psykhanium and select the one you prefer.
11. Found Ya mod - Tweak the distance. I personally increased Forge Materials, Scriptures and Grimoires, Luggables, and Supplies.
12. Ration Pack mod - Set to show by Numbers or Color.
13. True Peril mod - I set the **decimal digits slider** to **0**.
14. Pickup Notifications Tweaker - customize based on preference.
15. Speak Up mod - Tweak the volume adjustment when someone is using in-game VOIP.
16. Player Outlines mod - toggle the default skeleton-hologram, a highlighted mesh, and an outline.
17. Creature Spawner mod - I recommend binding the spawning and enemy selection hotkeys to the Numpad if you don't use them for anything else.
18. Which Book mod - change the color of the icon for the Tome and Grimoire, I set mine to Red for Grims and Yellow/ Orange for Tome.
19. Psykhanium Default Difficulty mod - Set to Damnation - I still have it set to **Choose Meat Grinder (difficulty selection view)** just in case I fat-fingered the Psykhanium hotkey instead of pressing the Mission Board hotkey.
20. Friendly NPC mod - Set to **Friendly/ Jerk/ Off**.
21. AFK mod - increase or decrease the amount of AFK check blocks.
22. Loading Lore mod - customize based on preference.
23. QuickLookCard - If you think it makes the inventory screen display too much information/ want to get back the **cleaner look of vanilla item cards**, switch it to **Off**
24. Spawn Feed - Added to the collection for accessibility options/ similar to L4D All dialogue subtitles displaying any special spawn stinger sounds that are playing; I switch it off as it is TMI for me. Note: It doesn't show Sniper spawns as they silently spawn in.
25. Quickest Play - I turned on Auto-retry quickplay when a hotjoinable match is not found (?). Could also set a hotkey to start quickplay on the set difficulty without going to the mission board.
26. StaminaVis - I use the default stamina bar settings. You can tweak transparency, percentage display side, etc.
27. Perspectives - Set a keybind for the 1st/ 3rd person perspective toggle and the 3rd person viewpoints switch if you want.
28. For The Emperor - Keybind hotkeys; You can use right-click (hold) while the chat wheel is up to reorder it.

Configurable for each enemy type and several damage types (instakill, burning, bleeding, etc). | Sound options are a bit limited by the game and may cause confusion, distracts, and obscure other sounds.
