# Bettertide

This collection aims to add more customization to weapons and the user interface with some quality of life changes.

The reason I felt the need to make this collection is because I feel Darktide is lacking things that would make the game more far more enjoyable. I find the lack of details on the HUD frustrating and the inability to but sights on weapons annoying, among other things such as loading times. I also wanted to keep this collection rather light for those with low to mid end rigs that already struggle with the game.

Unless mod authors stop updating their mods, collection will work the most recent version of the game.

# Before you start

**Requirements**

# **Install Instructions**

- Install the Mod Loader and Framework as per mod page instructions then download and install the collection
- Go to the Load Order tab on Vortex and enable all mods
- Ensure the load order is as follows:

### If for some reason the mods don't load, copy and paste the text above into your *mod\_load\_order.txt* file, located in your mods folder.

- Before launching the game, after all mods are installed and added to the load order, run *toggle\_darktide\_mods.bat* in your game folder
- To disable mod loading entirely, run the bat file again and chose to remove the modding patch
- To disable specific mods, open *mod\_load\_order.txt* and add two dashes -- with a space to the beginning of the line of the mod you want to disable

Loading into the lobby may take a while the first time around, as DarkCache is there to cache textures and geometry files for the Mourningstar, making subsequent load times shorter.

DarkCache may throw up a bunch of errors upon first loading of the Mourningstar, this is fine.

To access weapon customization, go into your inventory, select the weapon you want to customize and open its cosmetics tab. Remember to click the equip button before leaving the cosmetics page or your customization will not save.

All other mod settings and controls can be found in the in-game mod settings menu.

> Q: Help! The collection isn't working/mods aren't loading!

A: Read the installation instructions.

> Q: Can I use this or that mod with this collection?

A: I have not tested any mods outside of this collection, if you use it and it works thats great but modified collection will not receive support.

> Q: Can I disable a mod if I don't like it?

A: You should be able to without causing any issues. I have not tested this but other than the Load and Framework, none of the mods should interact with each other. Check mod requirements before disabling any mods. If you disable a mod requirement and without checking first, I will not help you.

> Q: Will you add this or that mod?

A: Like I said earlier, I have not tested any mods outside of the collection. If you think its worth adding and doesn't cause issues, DM me and I may check it out. But please test these mods with the collection before asking me to add them.
