- 'Cheaty Mods' - "LearnAllTheThings" could be considered 'cheaty'. If you'd rather Vanilla levelling for crew, disable this mod.&#x20;
- "Rare Modparts Sold" may also be considered cheaty. However, without this modparts are a real pain to get. You can edit the prices if you find them too cheap - right click in vortex, open in file manager, and edit "wares.xml".

# Main features

*Enhances game in many ways without changing anything drastic.*

Stars mod makes the game look amazing. As vanilla stars/planets are low res and quite ugly. If you have a very low quality PC though you may want to leave this out. (Definitely try it first, shouldn't be problem for most PC's and some report it actually improving performance).&#x20;

Various QOL fixes such as Info Center, Kuertee's mods, Finance Hub and many more.&#x20;

*(Only big change is VRO and XR Ship Pack. However, VRO is unanimously agreed to be an excellent mod.)*

**Best practices**

- **If installing XR Ship Pack and VRO**. Install VRO first, then XR ships, then XR Ships VRO patch.
- **Legacy Music, Crystal Finder and XR Ship Pack VRO** require manual installation. Download file/mod, create a folder somewhere for manual vortex mods. Then within vortex, at top left select install from file, navigate to zip file in the folder you selected for manual vortex mods and select the mods zip file. This makes the mod visible in vortex and easy to uninstall.&#x20;
- If you are using this collection on a pre 7.0 save that already had **VRO**, you will need to manually install the **VRO** version that doesn't include timelines.&#x20;
- If you are using this collection with a save that had an older version of **The Ancients**, you must continue to use your existing version of **The Ancients**, as the new version (.25) is not savegame compatible. Hopefully you haven't deleted it because the old versions are no longer downloadable.&#x20;
- ***"Encounters"*** has an alternate version if you are getting 'xu\_particle' shader crashes. In an old X4 version I found disabling "distortion" in graphics also stopped the crashes.&#x20;
- If you decide not to use XR Ship Pack, be sure to remove the VRO and MoreShipRooms compatibility patches.
- If your save didn't have VRO or The Ancients already, you cannot use them with an existing save.&#x20;

# Recycle Ships and Stations Functionality

***Recycle Ships and Stations*** is mod from 2021 that seems to still work. I have not fully tested it's functionality, but it does not break the game having it installed. However, you will need to add factions to the mods config so that all options are available. Go to your X4 folder, extensions, recycleshipsandstations, md. Open the .xml and scroll to the bottom, you will see the following line, simply copy and paste the "@faction.X" that I've got below.&#x20;

### Some 6.0 Collection Mods Are Removed

- "noclaimdamage" and "stop destroying my boarding target" have not been carried over from my previous collection due to incompatibility with 7.0.
- Extended Radar Range has been removed as this creates problems with some missions as it increases AI radar range as well.&#x20;
- Smooth Mouse Steering has been removed as I want to test this to see if it's worthwhile having.&#x20;
- A gracious modder has updated MoreShipRooms, so this has been included. (see changelog for other added mods that weren't in my previous collections)

### Mods Not Included You May Be Interested In

- The Realspace Engines Mod has been updated for 7.0. I tried this mod a while ago and really liked it, but it does not work with VRO or XR Ship Pack. I am mentioning it here as it's a mod I'm very interested in and others who are starting a new game may want to test out VRO and REM on separate saves to see which appeals most to them.&#x20;
- Kuertee's Alternative's to Death Mod has not been included, but if you want more immersion or punishing deaths have a look at this mod.&#x20;
- Improved Repair Laser hasn't been included as I think the repair laser should only be a minor/temporary fix to help you get to a station for full repair.&#x20;
- Escape Pod and Boarding Boost Fix seem like great mods, but I have not tested them yet and there are a few issues reported with Escape Pods.&#x20;

Author Note: I hope you enjoy this collection, for me it greatly improves the quality of life experience in this game and adds some very worthwhile features. If you like the collection please endorse so others are more likely to see it.&#x20;

X4 Foundations Vanilla Enhanced 7.0

Loaded with Quality of Life improvements and must have mods such as STARS which will make space look amazing at no performance cost. Save game compatible (see instructions). For most vanilla experience simply remove VRO, XR Ship Pack and The Ancients.
